I had an interesting call today. A gentleman rang this afternoon asking if I did passport photos for babies, he’d been ringing around the Hemel Hempstead area, trying to find someone who could help him. His call brought back memories of when I applied for passports for our two boys. You get the passport application form and think you’re all set, but no, you need to get two photos, one certified. Erm, but how do I get a photo of my baby when they don’t even sit up yet? Hands can’t be visible, their head must appear the right size, etc
Anyway, I’ve now added a baby passport photograph service to my repertoire.
UPDATE: I now provide passport photos for all the family and can also tailor the photos for USA, Canadian and other coutries specifications.
Why stop at babies? Loads of people hate they way they look in their passport photos. A soulless booth can never replace a good photographer.

Hi Aris, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I guess that I was considering the baby passport photo market as a niche and that given the strict rules on over 6’s for passport photos, there is really very little room, if almost none, for creativity or artistic flair! But you may have a point … it can’t hurt to offer the service. Many thanks for your input!
There is a passport photo place in London I once went to – it is on Oxford Street and it appears to have been there for a long long time. In their waiting room, they have a wall full of passport photos of various well known personalities over the past 40 years who appear to have gone there for a “quality” photo.
One other thing they do is specialise in foreign passport photos – each country has their own rules and believe me – it is a real hassle to find someone who can do it properly (been there, done that).
@Aris
Something for me to aspire to – famous people heading into the sticks (Berkhamsted) for their passport photos!
A quick look around the web, and I see what you mean, Kenya has a pretty laid back approach to their specification but Canada on the other hand has a fairly tight set of rules.
I’ll need to get working on some new web pages!
