I hope everyone enjoyed the Tour of Britain cycle race that came through Berkhamsted this summer. It was a great opportunity to get some colourful and once in a lifetime photographs.

One of the problems when we have moving subjects is to avoid motion blur. This is caused when the camera’s shutter is open for too long for the fast moving subject. So what can you do to solve the problem?

The sensor in your camera needs a particular quantity of light for a correct exposure. Most cameras will have a sport mode or a shutter priority mode (try 1/500th sec, faster for a faster subject). These are the ones to use! They will increase the ISO and/or aperture of the camera in order to allow a faster shutter speed.
